It all began in 1994 inspired by Professor Dr. Shigeru Suganami, founded at Gulshan, Dhaka by Professor Dr. Sarder A Nayeem and Professor Dr. Jonaid Shafiq jointly on return from Japan had the vision to pioneer new technologies in this country. Laparoscopic surgery and Pain medicine was pioneered by Professor Dr. Sarder A Nayeem and Professor Dr. Jonaid Shafiq respectively to open a new era in medical field in Bangladesh.

Relentless drive for the quality service to patients on time creates a demand for establishing 100 bed Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital to Japan Bangladesh Friendship Medical Services Ltd. of today with corporate social responsibility activities in addition hospital services back in 2005 at Dhanmondi, Dhaka .The enlargement of patient services in almost all sub-specialty in medical management backed by modern Diagnostic Laboratory, Radio-imaging unit, Intensive care unit (ICU), High dependency unit (HDU) facilities with new addition of Dialysis unit.
